Philadelphia has 22 blown saves. They're on pace for 41, which would easily break the record of 34 by Colorado in 2001. This month Philadelphia could break their team record of 25.

Has any team with that many blown saves ended up with a winning record? The Phillies are 44-44 now

Not sure if this has been posted anywhere before yet, but apparently the recent anti-ball-doctoring enforcement is working:

              https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/...gtype=Homepage

              To summarize:
              - Spin rates are down something like ~5%, more like 10% for some pitchers
              - Strikeouts are down slightly
              - Walks are up very slightly
              - OBP is up slightly
              - HBP have not increased, which makes sense. The "HBP will go through the roof because pitchers can't control anything without superglue" argument was always kind of a boogeyman that people used to justify minor cheating

This sounds like a good start to me.

The Cleveland baseball team has announced their new name.

Who had Guardians as their guess?
Brian Cashman: "I have no idea."

MLB announces that tonight’s Phillies-Nationals game at Citizens Bank Park has been postponed to allow for continued testing and contact tracing involving members of the Nats organization. The game will be made up as part of a straight doubleheader Thursday starting at 12:05pm.

The Nats had a separate admission double header earlier this season.

It's the Philles doing the right thing. Not the Nats.
