BA updated their top 10 list...
    1. Anthony Volpe, SS
    2. Oswald Peraza, SS
    3. Jasson Dominguez, OF
    4. Luis Gil, RHP
    5. Austin Wells, C
    6. Hayden Wesneski, RHP
    7. Trey Sweeney, SS
    8. Oswaldo Cabrera, 2B/3B
    9. Luis Medina, RHP
    10. Ken Waldichuk, LHP
Good list, but I'd still have Schmidt in the top 10. Also what does Pereira have to do to get some love!

I'm not saying hes going to be great or should be on the top 10, but Lockridge is my boy. I really like his style of play and tool set. Again, im not saying hes going to be a star.

I also think Vargas is going to be our breakout prospect next year.

Is there a decent list of what prospects need to be added for Rule 5 protection:
        • must add or most likely gone?
        • borderline adds that might be lost?
        • good but clearly won't be protected and you just hope they make it through or come back later?
        Baseball is life;
        the rest is just details.

I'd like to see this also.

I sure hope they protect that Whitlock fella. Seems like he might have some value.

Pereira should have been in the top 10. In his 200 at bats in low A and high A, he absolutely crushed it. 20 hrs in like 200 at bats.

must add or most likely gone -
Randy Vasquez (22 years old pitcher who was totally dominant in high A and ended season in AA. Legit stuff)
Oswaldo Cabrera (22 years old infielder who played SS, 2B and 3B at min. 20 games for each position in AA and AAA, hitting .272/.330/.533)

borderline adds that might be lost -
Everson Pereira (20 years old CF who hit .259/.354/.676 in high A)
Brandon Lockridge (5th round pick in 2018. 24 years old CF who hit .328/.382/.557 in AA)
Donny Sands (3B turned catcher who had a breakout season in AAA, hitting .272/.339/.476. Not sure about his defense)

good but clearly won't be protected and you just hope they make it through or come back later -
Anthony Garcia (20 years old who hit .291/.426/.655 in low A. Legit power bat)

Josh Breaux is also eligible but I'm not high on him.

                  Thanks Kan_t appreciate it.
What about guys like Riddings, Waldichuck & Wesneski or any other young fireballer I might be missing or do those guys all have one more year before they need protection?

Waldichuck and Wesneski are not yet eligible until next year.

Forget that Ridings isn't on 40-man roster. He shall be eligible and is a must add.

Another name to pay attention is Ron Marinaccio. Reliever who had a breakout season this year. Totally dominated AAA and AA hitters (41 SO and 0.975 WHIP in 26.2 AAA innings; 64 SO and 0.908 WHIP in 39.2 AA innings) and shall be a must add.

They are currently at 47 with guys on the 60 day, I think only Kluber and Rizzo are outright FAs so a lot of interesting decisions with the current 40 man.

Mainaccio was the guy I was thinking about but couldn’t recall.

Sands was added to the 40 man roster yesterday. J. Rodriguez was sent packing. I like this move. Sands broke out offensively this year, and with the dearth of upper-level Catching prospects in the NYY system, this was a no-brainer, at least to me.

Just Sands added? When is the deadline for Rule 5 eligible prospects.
